Poem - My Sleeping Son

My Sleeping Son

Sometimes I put my son to sleep

Even though he’s growing bigger

And his weight could be a trigger

This memory I want to keep.

What awaits in front of me?

Now, by my son, I want to be

My love beyond what I can see

My treasure is my family

Many say - let him cry alone

In the tears some things we learn

What I say to that concern

He’s my son, and love is shown

I want my son to know I’m here

It’s okay to cry and feel

Everything for sure is real

I am here to wipe his tear
